Another great freebie for y’all to make today a happy Friday =) And that’s a great freebie from L’Oreal, a free sample of their famous True Match Foundation!
I must confess, I’ve never tried it before, but I’ve long wanted to. The only thing stopping me is that I refuse to buy new foundations until I’m totally out of my old one (unless I need it for different purposes, ie one for light coverage and one for high coverage) but I haven’t even been using foundations much recently, just concealer.
One thing I love is that there’s a good 21 shades of this foundation, the darker shades don’t go quite as dark as to cover every dark skintone imaginable but I know it’s long been a problem that drugstore foundations/concealers just don’t have a wide enough range of colours and tend to only cover lighter skintones, a bit unfair if you ask me! So good one you L’Oreal for having 21 shades…
Just a quick one to heads up Here for a Day’s cosmetics/beauty sale, apparently their largest ever and it does feature a lot of brands (so something for everyone?) at hugely discounted prices, but it’s a flash sale and on for just a few more hours (eep, sorry about all the flash sales lately!).
If you don’t know about Here For a Day, they’re basically a deals site that occasionally does put on a good deal. This particular sale features stuff from Elizabeth Arden to to Dolce & Gabbana (all heavily reduced) to more high street brands like Max Factor and Revlon. There’s lipsticks, foundations, skincare, nail polishes, eye liner… the list goes on!
As you know, I don’t really like to post about giveaways. I have an intense dislike for someone sending me a link that says ‘Free xyz’ and then finding out it’s not actually ‘free xyz’ but ‘chance to win 1 of 10 xyz so you probably won’t get it’. My face goes like this => -_- So when I do post about giveaways I prefer to do a big bumper post about loads of giveaways at a go, I feel as a reader you’re getting more ‘value’ for your read. Note, if you’re interested at all in these giveaways, apply now because 3 of them close today.
First giveaway is by Dove, featuring the Dove Beauty Bar, a soap that’s made of ¼ moisturising cream (that’s a lot!)so it doesn’t dry your skin like other soap products do. That’s pretty important actually, especially for the drying summer months when we all spend too long out under the sun than we should in the hopes of getting a tan or just soaking up summer sun-rays. Fill out your details at their Facebook page here for the chance to win 1 of 200 beauty bars, thisgiveaway closes at 11:59pm today.
As the title suggests, today’s post is going to be about the new L’Oreal Beauty Boxes Club, which is a review panel of L’Oreal products and also a great way for us to nab some free L’Oreal beauty and skincare 😉 But first… let me rant (lol). I had a nightmare start to the day on Monday morning… it was church on Sunday, then a farewell dinner to a dear friend who’s leaving us to work in Canada, then a late meeting from 10pm till past midnight (severely overran!), then I had a lot of packing to do pre-filming on Monday and then I had to be up at 6am to catch my train out to the studios for 7… I don’t do mornings well, I thought I was going to miss my train and be terribly late so I was praying and running at the same time. Thank God I somehow got there early?! Modern-day miracle =P Not that I like to use the word ‘miracle’ lightly but you know what I mean.
Miraculously (yep, am going to use it again!) I ended work early on Monday afternoon but once I got home I was utterly knocked out till early evening. Am typing this now and am facing a very long day tomorrow but can still find things to be thankful for: (a) this blog, (b) you guys, (c) free L’Oreal hehe and (d) God. Even if you don’t agree with me on (a), (b) or (d) I’m sure everyone’s with me on (c), amright? 😉
Hello and Happy Weekend Everyone!
Remember the Biore Cleansing Cotton Sheets from my mini Asian Drug-Haul Post? Since then I’ve been using them everyday to remove my makeup before cleansing (I’m still using the Magnitone Pulsar!) and here are my thoughts on it 🙂
Here they are again in case you’ve forgotten what they look like!
I was actually tipped to get them from Asia-based blogger Qiuqiu’s post here, she really sold the sheets well so they were one of the must-try items on my wishlist since I’m in Asia this month!!!
The Biore sheets are meant to be packed with cleansing milk, ultra-cleansing and moisturising/good for the skin (hence why it’s called a ‘milk’ I guess?). The sheets do feel like they’re packed full of a lotion-type liquid and not a clear liquid, like, say, the Simple makeup remover sheets (which I love by the way). On a side note, I’ve bought loads of different types of Simple makeup wipes so expect a full review of all of them in the future!
