If you’ve been around this blog since the beginning you know I have a thing for Boots hauls but I only reserve my shopping for when there’s a great points event on. There’s a ton of old posts on this blog about Boots Points Events and the best (ie most parsimonious) way to shop them, but I think my all-time favourite post is this one where I really break it down at the bottom how to decide if the event is really worth your money or not!
So the low down on today’s event is that in selected stores (find out which stores here) there’s a special event where every £50 you spend nabs you £10 of points, after 3pm there’ll also be fun in-store activities and drinks so if you’ve the time, make a day of it! If you can’t spare the time, then they’re running the event online as well but online you’ll need to spend £60 to get the £10 of points.
Sorry for another long period of silence, however I’m back with good news, which is a points event from both Boots and Superdrug coming up this Bank Holiday weekend! I’ve honestly been feeling that Boots hasn’t had a points event in way too long, it’s usually customary that they have a great summer one but nothing this year *le sigh* so it’s a treat to have events from both mega-drugstores now.
First up, the Boots event.
As you can see, this is an online only event with a minimum spend of £50 or more. To be honest, the online only requirement doesn’t bug me out, since you get free delivery to your home once you hit £45 anyway (so you don’t have to spend more on delivery). If you really want your items now, as long as you order by 6pm you get to pick it up at your nearest store by noon the next day, so that’s also fine by me. Also, the selection online would tend to be tons better (just a bummer you can’t swatch things but you can do that at your local store before ordering). But there is one thing that makes me feel the Superdrug event this weekend trumps the Boots one…
I’m super excited about it finally being the weekend although I’ve already a ton on my to-do list for Saturday and Sunday is always almost totally taken up by church, which can be lovely but is also very tiring. Our church is so tiny it’s like a little community and everyone really needs to pitch in so service and bible study can keep running, all in it’s almost like a 2nd job. But I’m digressing from the deal for today which is a great freebie perfume sample of the new Dolce by Dolce and Gabbana fragrance!
How gorgeous is that promo image and also that bottle??? Very simple and understated I’d say. Apparently it’s inspired by elegance and youthful vitality and I think I can see the elegance in the monochromatic and simple design, as for the youthful vitality hmmm… I guess the bow and daisies are rather youthful? Not very ‘vital’ though!
Whow, TGIF! I’ve had back to back rehearsals all week and this is going to go on for another couple of weeks, I love it but it’s been pretty knackering so I’m looking forward to the weekend. Except I’ve also a pile of admin work to get to this weekend so… >_< oh dear! Anyway, detracting from the issue at hand… today I have for you a lovely deal which is a completely free pack of Always Dailies Pantyliners!
Lol, this is totally for ladies only (unless you’re a man who wants to get some for your sister or girlfriend or wife or something but what are the odds of that?!).
Hands up, I love it when Boots has a 3 for 2 and I straight up cannot resist it. In fact, I find it hard to resist any good sale or offer (practically kicked myself for missing Kiko’s amazing offer over Valentine’s weekend!), because the rest of the time I feel I’m very, very good. I have a massive wishlist and I never get anything on it until it does on offer. Don’t buy anything full price girls! And now Boots has a 3 for 2 on so I thought I’d share with you what I’m eyeing to get.
It’s not just skincare by the way! It’s 3 for 2 on makeup as well! Definitely a great offer but a bit too much choice, eep. And haircare oh my goodness me… I think the main trouble with these offers is to resist being tempted into buying something you wouldn’t have bought anyway. I’m obviously a penny-pincher (the blog title says it all!) and yet even I have the odd bit of makeup in my bathroom that I’ve never, ever used. Oh the shame… it’s just a waste, isn’t it?
