One-Year Blog-aversary!!! – Did You Save a Penny?

Parsimonious Penny has been up for A YEAR!!!

It’s been HOW long?!

Yes, I’m celebrating with my all-time favourite cat picture (I want that kitten)! And FIREWORKS!!! Okay, imaginary fireworks.

Does the word ‘blog-aversary even exist?? Well, it does now. I’m actually pretty chuffed I made it this far. A tad bit sad I abandoned the post-every-single-day a couple months ago but as an annual round-up kinda thing and also to be accountable to you lovely readers this is a stats-happy page. It’s nowhere as amazing as some of the beauty blogs out there that hit stats like this in, like, their first week. I’m not that amazing snazzy blog run by a social media expert-extradinaire that has wonderful integrated social platforms, artsy pictures taken by a chunky camera, which achieved 2500000 followers in its first 5 minutes of life… but then, I never expected a freebies beauty blog to be like that! It’s less about pretty images and more about maths, number crunching, real bargains and free stuff (lol).

So here’s what Parsimonious Penny is today, on its official one-year blog-aversary.

The most important number to me would be how much this blog has actually helped you, if at all! Hellooo my lovelies!

It’s Sunday now, finally. I’m typing this at 5am on Friday morning not having slept yet as there’s still too much to prep for church camp this weekend, am cooking dinner for 55 people tonight, please wish me luck!!!

Also, did I mention right after we get back to London from camp on Sunday morning I’ll have to head off to direct a 6 hour rehearsal? Oh I love my work so much…

So chances are that as you’re reading this I’m lurching around somewhere zombie-style either trying to get back to London or desperately making my way through rehearsal. Well, hope your day is jogging along infinitely better than mine is!

First up! I mentioned the Boots Star Gift offer that they’ve got on for Christmas some time last week and as of Friday they’ve officially launched the next Star Gift for the week which is:

I’ve heard of Laura Ashley and while I know they’re a relatively premium, luxury body product brand I’ve always felt they’re a bit, erm, ‘mum-sy’? Not sure why! I find the packaging pretty but in a mildly retro kind of way… needless to say, I wouldn’t gift this to someone who’s, say in their early twenties and more into parties than bubble baths. Boots seems to agree, as the promo video for this gift seems to target an older age range than the last one.

July the 13th was officially the start of this blog, on hindsight ’13’ isn’t the luckiest day to start on but I guess it’s worked for me! Of course I realise it’s only a matter of time before one of the blog’s anniversaries falls on a Friday the 13th… thankfully I’m not superstitious.

So now we’re on August the 13th and that marks the 1 month anniversary of this blog! It feels a bit anti-climactic as just over a week ago I posted about reaching 500 views and this follows on a little too quickly from that I think but I couldn’t resist putting up a little post to mark the occasion anyway. As of yesterday the blog hit 767 views and there’re now 29 followers, thank you so much for each and every hit and each and every follow! I appreciate it so, so much knowing that what I write is getting to a readership out there somewhere! Massive hugs and kisses!!!

As the keyword here is ‘little’ post, I don’t want to drag this out too much! Just want to keep thanking everyone who’s currently/still reading for supporting the blog, I sincerely hope the deals/tips/budgeting advice have been useful for you and thank you so much for putting up with my penchant for random animal pictures and puns.
